Autumn Nymph

Sidhe Etain in the autumn leaves

Sidhe Etain in the autumn leaves

I was invited to come along on a shoot with Bat Girl Photography (a fantastic photographer – she has an amazing eye) and Sidhe Etain (a beautiful model with a great collection of renaissance clothing). Our venue was the fall foliage at Dublin, OH’s Scioto Park.I had a lot of fun working with both women. Sidhe is very graceful with a beauty that extends beyond the exterior.  The outfit she wore is her wedding dress.  She and her mother made the outfit and one of her friends created the hair piece. One of Sidhe’s goals for this shoot was to have her among the fall leaves – with she and the leaves and her outfit blending together.

During the shoot, I couldn’t help but say out loud that she looked like an Autumn Nymph frolicking and  being at one with the outdoors.  Sidhe commented that that was exactly what she was looking for!

Lighting for the shoot changed and I used a number of different tools.  Some shots were natural light (and I wished I had brought my white bounce card or reflector to give a little more punch to the image).  The main purpose of the shoot for me was to use my Alien Bee Beauty Dish and AB 1600 to create and control the light. Most of the time, the light was held on a painter pole (attached via a Kasey Pole Adapter) and maneuvered by Bat Girl Photography (Thank You!).  The AB 1600 was typically at 1/4 power or less.  The beauty dish was further modified by the  AB Grid modifier.
