On November 14, 2009, 15 photographers, 8 models, and 2 make-up artists met up at Central City Recording Studio for a music themed learning and networking event. All ranges of experience were represented – from beginners to pros. The day started with five pre-set lighting experiences: clam shell, beauty (3 point lighting), white seamless, faux window-light, and environmental (in the console room). All of the models rotated through each area giving them exposure to various lights, “leaders,” and poses. The beginning models were given great directions and advice from the experienced photographers. The beginning photographers were given great advice from the experienced models. I didn’t get many chances to shoot, but did get a chance to meet all of the models and watch everyone work. I cannot thank everyone enough for their patience, humor, and willingness to share.
