Senior Portrait Season
Today I continued my senior portrait season for the class of 2011 – Taylor, a senior this fall at one of the Olentangy City Schools High Schools, and I created some images along a local railroad (with assistants watching for trains!). Working with me today was Jacci as an assistant and fellow photographer. She has [...]
Portrait of a Dancer
On Friday, April 2, 2010, I went to visit my friends and fellow photographers Shad and Jason of Red Door Photography. They had taken my wedding photos (I HIGHLY recommend them!) two weeks prior. They were also hosting an open house for the First Friday celebration in Bellevue, KY where their studio is located. One [...]
Russian Themed Winter Photo Essay
Grace has visualized a series of images she has wanted to capture in the snow for a while now. This past weekend, she and I (along with trusty lighting assistant, Aaron) ventured out into the cold and rainy Columbus weather and took this series of images at Innis Woods Metro Park – part of the [...]
Workshop Reflections
I have now had the opportunity to take part in both Don Giannatti’s Learn To Light 2-day workshop and Zack Arias’ one-day OneLight workshop. For me, I am VERY satisfied with both. Don and Zack are GREAT teachers. I am a National Board Certified Physics Teacher and also have a Master’s in Education. I have been in [...]
Blues for a Cure
The 2010 Blues For A Cure CD – “Blues Cures Vol. 2” will be released January 20, 2010 at the International Blues Competition. Two photographers documented this one-day process. Jenn Ocken and I spent the day in the studio taking photos and I also took HD video of the various artists. Videos that I took [...]
Senior Portrait
Brendan runs cross country at a local high school. Because of this, he didn’t have time during the season for a senior portrait session with me. Once the season ended, the weather was too nasty and unpredictable for outdoor photos (who wants bare trees or only evergreens as background material?).
Musician and Model
December, 2009 – Working a photo session at TRUE Studios: The job – Heather, for photos for her portfolio and Tony for head shots and promo shots as a blues musician. While they had initially come to shoot photos individually, it became obvious that we needed to work them together.
Blues for a Cure
This past weekend was a 2 night concert followed by a studio session with a number of bands and individual artists in Central Ohio. I was brought in to shoot photos and video of the events. My team consisted of two additional photographers and a videographer. We documented the whole weekend of music.
Family Portraits
Yesterday I was hired to help create a holiday photo with some family friends. Chris and Kristi and their two awesome kids wanted a fun holiday photo for their 2009 Christmas card. They also wanted to include their family pet in the photo. I will admit that I sometimes am at a loss for something [...]
Stefanie Spielman
Central Ohio is mourning the loss of Stefanie Spielman this week. Her very public battle with breast cancer ended with her loved ones around her.
